Motorsport fans need no introduction to the area. Home to the Indy 500 and other prestigious races, central Indiana offers race aficionados plenty of enticement. Check out Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park for a full calendar of weekend events from April to October. Whether you’re a die-hard NASCAR fan or looking to experience the thrill of your first race, a weekend at the speedway is a uniquely local experience you won’t want to miss.

Visit Our Parks

Local residents enjoy a wealth of access to nature with several local parks to enjoy. The 232-acre McCloud Nature Park is a crown jewel with its interpretive exhibits, diverse wildlife population, and sparkling creeks. Likewise, the Echo Hollow Nature Park offers visitors plenty of serene hiking trails, pond fishing, and wildlife viewing. Valley Ranch near Brownsburg offers horse riding lessons for all skill levels, while Ellis Park is another local favorite with water slides, jungle gyms, and picnic areas–the perfect place to wind down with family and friends in the heart of Danville.

Delectable eating options abound as you make your way around Hendricks County. Fans of The Andy Griffith Show will want to make a beeline to the Mayberry Cafe in Danville, a themed tribute celebrating the beloved series. The popular Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery serves locally sourced produce, homemade breads, and tasty desserts. Rusted Silo Southern BBQ & Brewhouse couples perfectly smoked meats with great sides, desserts, and a fantastic craft beer selection.

Beasley’s Orchard is a local treasure and a top Indiana destination for local produce and homemade delicacies such as jams and jellies. Entertainment and nightlife choices run the gamut from upscale to casual. Hendricks Live! is our new performing arts center with an events calendar second to none. Everything from the classical stylings of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra to blues, rock, pop, and stage shows are on tap for the coming season. For weekend music and pub grub, The Prewitt in downtown Plainfield is a local favorite where you can sing and dance the night away.
